Summary on Classification of Functions
- If 𝑎 and 𝑏 are fixed real numbers, 𝑎 ≠ 0, then 𝑓(x) = 𝑎x + 𝑏 for every real number is called a linear function. If 𝑎 = 0, then 𝑓(x) = 𝑏 is called a constant function.
- The slope indicates the steepness of a line and the intercept indicates the location where it intersects an axis.
